Diagnostic assessments for dyslexia
Noticing signs of dyslexia in your child can feel overwhelming, but you’re not alone. As a qualified teacher with an Assessing Practicing Certificate (APC), Membership of the Dyslexia Guild and PATOSS, and over 13 years’ experience, I provide clear, supportive assessments you can trust.

My reports follow SASC guidelines, meaning they can be used for Disabled Student Allowance. They highlight your child’s strengths while offering practical, tailored guidance to help them thrive.
I’m here to make the process straightforward and supportive — so your child’s learning journey can be filled with confidence and success.

A full diagnostic assessment looks at a child’s cognitive and attainment profile to diagnose dyslexia - or identify other areas difficulty. The report then outlines the results, gives a diagnosis (if appropriate) and recommended strategies to support a child's learning.
The assessment process involves collecting background information and a face-to-face assessment. The assessment takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete. Afterwards, a full written report is prepared and sent 2 weeks after the assessment. This report explains areas of strength and difficulty, strategies for school, home and assistive technology, a formal dyslexia diagnosis and onward referrals (if required). Also included are recommendations for exam access arrangements. A full diagnostic assessment is £545.

Assessments are carried out in school or a home environment. Often parents feel that young children are more comfortable in their own home, and many of our assessments are home visits.
